Cammach are currently recruiting for a Labourer on behalf of our Montrose-based client. This is an initial 12-month contract opportunity, with the potential for an extension.

Hours of work: Mon – Thu: 07.00 - 16.00 & Fri: 07.00 - 12.00
Overtime rates also available

ROLE

As Labourer, you will take a customer service approach with a view that the services you provide are there to support our repair group with the efficient management of workspace and pre-operative works. As Labourer, your duties will be varied and will include activities such as power washing, moving components around the workshop workflow areas, lifting and handling, general cleaning and housekeeping.

Key to this role will be your ability to determine priorities to ensure continuous workflow between disciplines ultimately achieving target dates and on time delivery. You will take ownership of the workshop environment to maintain high levels of order and cleanliness and offer general assistance and support to the production and site teams. As Labourer you will be open to learning new skills which will in turn maximise production efficiency

Responsibilities

  • Maintain housekeeping to high standard in manufacturing workshops and outside storage areas
  • Operate overhead gantry cranes
  • Power wash equipment - Assist painter / blaster as required
  • Maintain housekeeping and coverall storage with locker room
  • Carry out on time deliveries and pick-ups
  • Maintain high levels of cleanliness and order within facility and within a safe state at all times
  • Operate forklift and side loader as and when required
  • Empty swarf, material off-cuts and waste containers when required
  • Work collaboratively with and assist all departments as and when required, including machine operators and management
  • Make sure workflow is maximised by moving components to the correct stations
  • Accurately complete all details on time sheets/Kronos electronic timekeeping - return them to the Fabrication Lead on completion of a shift
  • Demonstrate awareness of company objectives, policies and procedures
  • Identify and communicate health and safety risks making recommendations to Supervisor to improve workshop operations
  • Ensure all company policies surrounding, health & safety, quality requirements and housekeeping are met
  • Maintain production area housekeeping 5S
  • Conduct all material movements in accordance with the company’s safe working practices
  • Minimise waste by using/disposing of raw materials and consumable items efficiently
  • Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are in full compliance at all times
  • Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager.
