Company Description Passive Fire Protection Specialists Ltd provides a wide range of passive fire protection services to help safeguard buildings and infrastructure. The company’s work includes the application of thin film intumescent coatings, board encasement, sprayed cementitious products, and soffit insulation. They also deliver critical fire stopping, fire door installations, and compartmentation works to help control the spread of fire and smoke. Joining the team offers the opportunity to contribute to essential safety solutions across diverse construction and refurbishment projects.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Labourer role based in Glasgow. The Labourer will support the delivery of passive fire protection works, including preparing work areas, handling materials. Day-to-day tasks include:

The Labourer may also assist with:

  • Basic measurements
  • Recording work completed
  • Coordinating with supervisors and other trades on site

Qualifications

  • Experience in general construction, labouring, or similar site-based work, with the ability to handle tools, materials, and equipment safely.
  • Basic understanding of building safety practices, with a willingness to learn passive fire protection methods and follow detailed instructions.
  • Good physical fitness and stamina, including the ability to lift materials, work at height where required, and perform manual tasks throughout the day.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a reliable and professional approach to working with supervisors, colleagues, and other trades.
  • Commitment to health and safety, including following PPE requirements, site rules, and relevant regulations at all times.
  • Ability to read and understand basic site documentation, such as work plans and safety notices; numeracy skills for simple measurements are beneficial.
  • Previous experience in fire protection, insulation, or coatings is an advantage but not essential; on-the-job training may be provided.
  • Valid right to work in the UK; a full driving licence and access to transport are beneficial for travel to various sites.
