We're looking for a driven and commercially focused Land & New Business Manager to play a key role in delivering Moat's ambitious growth strategy.
You will be responsible for identifying, appraising and securing new development opportunities across land-led schemes, development sites and Section 106 opportunities, ensuring they align with corporate objectives. Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including developers, housebuilders, funders and strategic partners, you will build and maintain strong relationships, negotiate commercial and contractual terms, assess development viability and risk, and represent Moat at external meetings. You will also prepare and present detailed business cases and reports for approval by senior leadership, the Executive Team and Board committees.

With strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and negotiate effectively, you will be confident managing multiple opportunities in a fast-paced environment. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
