Role Description

This is a full-time Land Surveyor role based in Newquay with a hybrid working arrangement, combining on-site work with some work from home/office. The Land Surveyor will carry out topographic and measured building surveys, construction setting out, drone surveys, and other field and office survey tasks using modern equipment and software. Daily responsibilities include planning and executing site surveys, collecting and verifying spatial data, processing survey information, and producing clear, accurate plans and reports. The role also involves liaising with clients and project stakeholders, ensuring survey outputs meet technical standards, regulatory requirements, and project timelines. The Land Surveyor will contribute to continuous improvement of survey methods and support the wider team on complex surveying projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong practical skills in Land Surveying and Surveying, with experience in fieldwork and data processing.
  • Proficiency in Topographic Surveys, including data collection, interpretation, and production of detailed survey drawings.
  • Hands-on experience using Leica Total Station and related survey instruments, with accurate setup, measurement, and calibration.
  • Competence in Measured Building Surveying and Laser scanning, including preparation of clear, precise plans.
  • Relevant qualification in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Relevant Drone operator qualifications.
  • Familiarity with N4ce survey and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar) and good general IT skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to follow technical standards and safety procedures.
  • Effective communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a client-focused approach.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites within the region/UK.
