JOB TITLE: Land Surveyor
LOCATION: Garforth, Leeds OR Witham, Essex
JOB TYPE: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
TEXO Recruitment is supporting our client in the recruitment of an experienced Land Surveyor to join their team in Garforth, Leeds.
The successful candidate will work across a varied range of land, topographic, engineering, laser scanning and mobile mapping projects throughout the UK.
You'll need experience with 3D laser scanning, total stations and GPS/GNSS, along with a strong understanding of traversing and establishing survey control networks.
The role will also provide opportunities to support UAS and utility surveying activities where required.
Regular UK-wide travel and overnight stays will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out land, engineering and topographic surveys.
- Undertake terrestrial laser scanning and mobile mapping surveys.
- Operate total stations, GPS/GNSS and other survey equipment.
- Establish and maintain survey control networks.
- Complete traversing, levelling and control surveys.
- Process survey data using N4CE and Leica Cyclone.
- Produce accurate CAD drawings, models and survey documentation.
- Establish survey control for UAS operations.
- Support UAS survey activities where required.
- Assist with utility surveys, including PAS 128 work.
- Check survey data and deliverables for accuracy.
- Complete site documentation, risk assessments and survey records.
- Liaise with clients, contractors and site teams.
- Maintain survey equipment and ensure it is fit for use.
- Deliver all work safely and to a high professional standard.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in land, engineering or topographic surveying.
- Experience using total stations and GPS/GNSS equipment.
- Experience with 3D laser scanning.
- Strong understanding of traversing and survey control.
- Ability to process and present survey data accurately.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and client-facing skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Valid CSCS card.
Desirable
- Experience using N4CE.
- Experience with Leica Cyclone or similar point-cloud software.
- AutoCAD experience.
- Experience with mobile mapping systems.
- Experience supporting UAS operations.
- Knowledge of PAS 128 and utility surveying.
- Relevant surveying, geospatial or engineering qualification.
