About the Role
The Housing Services team has a key role in delivering safe, healthy and high-quality homes for Residents across our city. Through our A Place Called Home vision, we are committed to putting Residents at the heart of everything we do, ensuring homes are safe, affordable and sustainable and delivering services that meet and exceed Resident expectations.
As a Landlord Compliance Coordinator, you will play an important role in supporting Manchester City Council's landlord compliance and building safety functions. Whilst the post supports a range of compliance services across Housing Services, the initial focus of this role will be within the Awaabs Law team. You will provide high quality administrative and Resident focused support, helping to ensure that HHSRS cases are managed effectively and that the Council meets its statutory responsibilities and timescales.
If you share our ambition to deliver excellent housing services, protect Residents and ensure safe and compliant homes, we want to hear from you!
If you're successful, you'll join a dedicated team of colleagues supporting the delivery of landlord compliance and building safety services across Manchester's council housing stock. Your work will be vital in helping Housing Services meet the requirements of Awaab's Law and ensuring our Residents receive timely, effective and resident-focused support.
You will act as a first point of contact for Awaab's Law enquiries and support requests, maintaining accurate records and compliance data, managing a busy shared inbox and ensuring key actions are completed within statutory timescales. You will coordinate activities such as no-access cases and temporary decants, issue compliance correspondence to residents, raise repair orders and appointments and work closely with colleagues, contractors and partner services to ensure cases progress efficiently.
This is a key support role that contributes directly to resident safety, regulatory compliance, service improvement and the delivery of high-quality housing services across Manchester.
For an informal discussion, please contact the hiring manager Sara Orme by email at sara.orme@manchester.gov.uk to arrange a convenient time to discuss the role.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
