We’re looking for a talented Senior Landscape Architect to join our Chartered Landscape Architecture studio and play a central role in the next stage of our studio’s incredible growth in the UK and USA.

PAD is a remarkable and ambitious practice working on an exciting portfolio of landmark projects in London, across the UK and in the USA. Our work ranges from public realm, urban parks, major commercial roof gardens, and high-end residential gardens.

For the right person, this is much more than simply another Senior Landscape Architect role.

Because we are an independent studio, senior members of our team have genuine global influence. You won’t disappear into a large project team or spend years working on one thing. You’ll work directly with directors, clients, architects, developers, ecologists and contractors, helping to shape projects from the earliest concept through technical design and delivery on site.

A real opportunity to grow - we want someone who is ambitious about where their career can go.

At PAD, a Senior Landscape Architect can take real ownership of projects, develop client relationships, mentor younger designers and help shape the future direction of the studio. As we grow, so will you, and there is a clear opportunity to progress into a leadership role and become a key part of the long-term success of the business.

We actively encourage people to develop their own interests and expertise — whether that is planting design, ecological design, technical delivery, public realm, roof gardens, digital design or project leadership. Our unique R+D department PADlab commissions field tests to experiment with live Regenerative Projects and many other tests to push our work into new areas of innovation and expertise.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

If you have ideas about how landscape architecture should evolve, we want you to bring them with you.

Work that is genuinely interesting - our projects are often technically challenging, highly visible and ambitious. We design landscapes for some of London’s most prominent locations, across the UK and in the United States, giving the team opportunities to engage with different climates, construction techniques and approaches to landscape design.

Design with purpose

Our approach is rooted in the belief that landscape architecture should create places that are both beautiful and ecologically meaningful. We are interested in regenerative landscapes, biodiversity, resilient planting and creating landscapes that become richer over time. Leading new planting design is therefore central to much of our work. We enjoy experimenting with unusual species, plant communities and new approaches rather than relying on predictable ideas and palettes.

We are also interested in how new technology, digital collaboration and AI can improve the way landscapes are designed, coordinated and delivered.

A small studio with big opportunities

One of the biggest advantages of joining PAD is that your contribution will genuinely matter.

You will have:

  • real responsibility and project ownership
  • direct access to clients and senior consultants
  • involvement from concept through construction
  • opportunities to work on landmark London and international projects
  • the chance to mentor and help develop younger team members
  • influence over the design culture and future direction of the studio
  • a clear route toward senior leadership as the practice grows.

We want people who enjoy collaboration, who care about good design and who are curious about landscape, ecology, architecture and the wider world.

A studio where people can enjoy their careers

We love our work and have high standards, but PAD remains a fun, supportive and friendly studio, and always an enjoyable place to work. Our benefits include 33 days' holiday including public holidays, flexible working hours, annual bonuses, high pension contributions, full professional membership fees, Cycle to Work support and monthly trips for dedicated CPD.

We invest heavily in professional development and regularly visit landscapes, nurseries, projects and exhibitions, learn new skills and bring new ideas back into the studio.

We also believe good landscape architects need time away from their desks — whether that means visiting planting projects, seeing landscapes mature, attending CPD events or simply spending time together as a team.

Who we would love to meet

We’re interested in hearing from Senior Landscape Architects who combine strong design ability with project running, curiosity, technical confidence and an enthusiasm for landscapes.

You might currently be working within a large established practice and looking for somewhere where you can have more influence, more variety and greater ownership of your work and your future. We’re looking for someone who shares our ambition to create landscapes that are unique, beautiful, resilient, innovative, ecologically rich and genuinely memorable.

If that sounds like the kind of practice you would like to help build, we’d love to hear from you.
