The diverse nature of the Trust’s network, and the range of activities, users, and stakeholders that use our waterways, presents unique opportunities for landscape architects to work within our Customer & Place Division, and across our multidisciplinary charity.

This role is based working from home, with a requirement to attend our main hub spaces from time to time for team working and collaborative meetings. It is important that you can reasonably commute to one of our main hubs below. The regularity & flexibility of travel will be discussed further at interview stage.
Relevant Hubs: Leeds, Newark, Ellesmere Port, Burnley, Birmingham, Hatton, Leighton Buzzard, Gloucester & Little Venice (London).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
