Join Our Team at Deacon Design - We are recruiting for established Landscape Architects to support our senior team.
Location:
Fareham, Hampshire
Positions Available:
- Post Graduate + 2 years (min)
- Senior Landscape Architect up to Associate Level

As an established South of England landscape architecture studio with a decade-long track record, we offer full design services from concept and planning through to delivery across a diverse range of sectors.
We’re looking for creative, enthusiastic people who want to play an active role in the continued development of our practice. We’re particularly interested in people who can communicate design ideas effectively, whether through sketching, graphics, technical drawings, reports, presentations or simply a good conversation around the table.

We’re interested in hearing from candidates across a range of experience levels, including:
- Project Landscape Architects (min 2+ yrs experience post qualification)
- Senior Landscape Architects / up to Associate Level

The Opportunities
Your role and responsibilities will naturally reflect your experience, but depending on your level you could be involved in:
- Developing creative landscape proposals from concept through to completion.
- Contributing to landscape-led masterplanning and placemaking.
- Preparing planning, design and technical drawing packages.
- Working collaboratively with architects, planners, ecologists, engineers and other consultants.
- Producing high-quality presentation material using Adobe Creative Cloud, AutoCAD and other design software.
- Undertaking site visits, site appraisal and fieldwork.
- Contributing to Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA) and wider planning work.
- Developing planting strategies, detailed planting designs and specifications.
- Attending client and design team meetings and presenting proposals.
- Supporting projects during construction and implementation.
- Managing projects, programmes and client relationships at more senior levels.
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
- Helping shape the future growth, design approach and culture of the practice.

What We’re Looking For
Depending on your experience and career stage, we’re interested in candidates who have:
- A qualification in Landscape Architecture or a complementary discipline.
- Strong design skills and an understanding of how landscape can positively shape places.
- Good graphic, written and verbal communication skills.
- An ability to express ideas clearly as part of a wider design team.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud, or a willingness to develop these skills.
- A collaborative and proactive approach to projects.
- The confidence to work independently alongside an enthusiasm for working as part of a team.
- An interest in developing professionally and taking on greater responsibility as your career progresses.

Experience We’d Particularly Welcome
Depending on the role, experience in any of the following would be an advantage:
- UK planning and development.
- LVIA and landscape planning.
- Landscape-led masterplanning.
- Detailed landscape design and specification.
- Planting design and horticulture.
- Construction and site implementation.
- AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud and KeySCAPE.
- Client and consultant coordination.
- Project management and mentoring.
- Landscape Institute Chartership or working towards Chartership.
