The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Landscape Architectural Assistant to join our Landscape team within Property Services at Hampshire County Council.
Hampshire County Council's Property Services is a pioneering public service practice with a national reputation for inspirational, practical, and resilient architecture, winning awards over many years.
We are a thriving multi-disciplinary design-led office of some 100 designers with an ever-increasing portfolio of exciting and varied projects.
We are looking for a high calibre landscape architectural assistant to join our team and help deliver this work, embracing our commitment to creating quality architecture for the public good and the values of a leading non-profit-making organisation.
What you’ll do:
As part of your role as a landscape architectural assistant you will support the landscape design and delivery of construction projects, providing a service of the highest quality. Within this you will assist in providing a service that is creative and effective, supporting the planning, designing, and delivering of successful projects safely, on time, with budget and with good client feedback. The role will encompass supporting multi-disciplinary design teams in the development of projects from inception to completion.
What we’re looking for:
You will hold an undergraduate degree and a postgraduate Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from a Landscape Institute accredited course. With excellent design skills and relevant professional experience, you will be passionate about creating high-quality landscapes and contributing to a diverse range of multidisciplinary projects.
Working closely with landscape architects, architects, professional colleagues, and external consultants, you will be a collaborative team player with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

You will provide Landscape Architectural support across a variety of landscape and architect-led projects, demonstrating sound technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering successful outcomes.
You will be an effective communicator with strong presentation skills, able to influence stakeholders and exercise sound judgement in complex and varied situations.
A good understanding of construction principles, materials, and relevant statutory requirements, including Health and Safety Regulations, Building Regulations, and planning procedures, is essential.
You will also be confident using CAD and other digital tools to support the design and delivery process.
We are looking for a highly motivated and resilient individual with a strong customer focus and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
You will be committed to continuous professional development and keen to build your career within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Experience of AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp, and Revit would be advantageous, as would an aspiration to progress through the Landscape Institute's Pathway to Chartership.
