About Us

The Tregothnan Estate is a private family estate. The Estate workforce is comprised of forestry, viticulture, and property maintenance teams supported by a Rural estate office team. The Estate also has a substantial portfolio of residential, commercial, and agricultural properties.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced labourer to join our small, friendly, and established team. The role involves working across a diverse landscape, including woodland, vineyard, gardens, tracks, and general estate infrastructure. The successful candidate must hold valid tickets to operate a digger and be confident using a range of machinery and tools.

This is a practical, varied role suited to someone who enjoys outdoor work, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and can adapt to the changing needs of the estate.

Duties include:

  • Operating diggers and other estate machinery safely and competently (valid tickets required).
  • Undertaking general gardening and grounds maintenance duties.
  • Assisting with woodland management, including clearing, stacking, and habitat work.
  • Supporting vineyard operations such as spraying, mowing, and general maintenance.
  • General estate labouring tasks, including fencing, track repairs, and groundworks.
  • Loading, moving, and handling materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensuring machinery and tools are cleaned, maintained, and stored correctly.
  • Assisting with seasonal maintenance and development projects across the estate.

About You

You will need:

  • Valid digger/plant operation tickets (essential).
  • Ability to work across varied environments, including woodland, vineyard, and general estate grounds.
  • Experience in outdoor work such as landscaping, farming, forestry, or construction.
  • Understanding of basic horticultural and gardening practices (preferably).
  • Competency in using hand tools, power tools, and estate machinery.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
