Estimator / Senior Estimator – Boroughbridge
Ideally located from our Head office in Boroughbridge with options to work from other operating hubs, you will be involved in estimating of Hard & Soft Landscaping, Fencing and Vegetation Clearance / Management schemes, including the presentation / collation of supporting bid documentation including supplier / subcontractor prices, Risk Assessments / Method Statements, Programmes and other information in support of bid submissions.
Duties
- To ensure your allocated bids are priced competitively and in accordance with company overhead and recovery requirements
- Attendance at sites both during the tender process and upon successful bid submissions to ensure a smooth transition
- Post tender negotiation / analysis in preparation for entering new contracts
- Review and comment upon pending orders / contracts to ensure compliance with our bid
- Actively chase work tendered and secure work to meet company objectives and budgets and obtain feedback where possible to ensure our ongoing competitiveness
- Responsible for building relationships with prospective and existing customers to identify and secure further opportunities and representing the business in a professional manner
- Producing accurate quotations using the current procedures and submit quotations on time; ability to undertake take off from drawings/plans and produce bill of quantities to client’s satisfaction
- Contribution of management information for review at monthly meetings
- Analysis and pricing of scheme work within existing frameworks
- Identify risk and / or opportunity in submitted bids
- Active engagement with the company CRM system to help provide and produce accurate tender statistical analysis
- Ensure bids consider and include proposals for Social Value, community engagement, carbon, sustainability and other added value considerations alongside the financial aspects
- Responsible for the production of forecasts, budget information and handover packs and ensuring the successful handover and post contract support for the Operations and Commercial team
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks or duties as requested by management

- Commercial and contract awareness as well as Health and Safety and environmental awareness
- NEC contract awareness preferable together with knowledge of alternative contract forms
- Full driving license
- Industry experience in Hard Landscaping / Minor Civils, Soft Landscaping and/or Grounds Maintenance is preferre
- Ability and flexibility to work to deadlines as required
