Landscaping Estimator / Surveyor
Salary: £50,000 per annum + Profit-Based Bonus Scheme + Car Allowance
Location: Scotland-wide
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Root One Group is looking for an experienced and motivated Landscaping Estimator / Surveyor to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded individual to play a key role in securing new projects and supporting the continued growth of the business.
The successful candidate will be predominantly responsible for pre-contract estimating, preparing accurate and competitive tenders for a range of commercial landscaping projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender enquiries, drawings, specifications and bills of quantities to establish project requirements.
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for soft landscaping, hard landscaping and associated works.
- Undertake site surveys and visits to assess project requirements and identify potential challenges.
- Calculate material quantities and associated labour, plant and subcontractor costs.
- Obtain, review and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare and submit tender returns within required deadlines.
- Identify commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions.
- Liaise with clients, main contractors, suppliers and internal teams throughout the tender process.
- Maintain accurate tender records and monitor tender submissions and outcomes.
- Support the handover of successful tenders to the operational teams.

Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in estimating or surveying within landscaping, construction or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of landscaping materials, construction methods and associated costs.
- Experience preparing and submitting competitive tenders.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
- Confident communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant estimating software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Full UK driving licence.
