About the Role

At Innodata, we partner with the world’s leading technology companies to build the next generation of generative AI and large language models (LLMs). We are seeking smart, detail-oriented, and curious Language Specialists with native-level fluency in English to help shape how AI understands and uses language. This is a unique opportunity for writers, editors, and linguists to contribute to the forefront of AI innovation. You’ll be instrumental in teaching LLMs how to think, reason, and communicate with greater fluency and human-like nuance.

Job Title: Language Specialist

Location: United Kingdom

Language Requirement: Native-level fluency in English language

Compensation: $19 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating training data sets for AI models that will help improve their accuracy, fluency, coherence, and/or voice
  • Annotating data to help AI models align with human values
  • Analyzing and improving the grammar, syntax, and sentence structure of both expert-generated training data and AI model-generated text to ensure it adheres to linguistic rules and conventions
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, researchers, and software engineers to refine and iterate datasets
  • Contributing to evolving specifications for AI-model training and data recipes
  • Navigating a dynamic environment and adapting to shifting guidelines and flexible priorities

Requirements

  • Native-level fluency in English and strong proficiency in English
  • Excellent writing, editing, and linguistic analysis skills
  • Deep understanding of grammar, syntax, and stylistic subtleties
  • Research skills and an ability to fact-check effectively
  • Ability to work independently and meet daily deadlines
  • Assessment: Candidates must pass our project-specific assessments (2) designed to evaluate their language proficiency and analytical abilities
