Role Description

The Language Tutor is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Greater Plymouth Area. The tutor will provide individualised and group language instruction, design lesson plans aligned with learners’ goals, and adapt teaching materials to different proficiency levels. Daily tasks include:

Qualifications

  • Strong language proficiency in the target language(s) and excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Demonstrated skills in lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom or small-group instruction.
  • Experience in learner assessment, feedback delivery, and tracking progress using clear criteria.
  • Ability to use educational technology, online resources, and productivity tools to enhance learning.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and time management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Linguistics, Languages, or a related field; teaching certification or tutoring experience is an advantage.
  • Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory teaching practices and willingness to support diverse learners.
