The Role
Brackley, UK
We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Laser Etcher to join our Main Inspection department on a 5-month fixed-term contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within a world-leading engineering environment, ensuring the accurate identification and traceability of components that support critical manufacturing and car build activities. Working as part of a highly skilled team, you will contribute directly to maintaining the exceptional standards of quality and excellence that underpin our success.
This role operates on the weekend shift across 3 days, with participation in a planned weekend overtime rota to support key car build activities during peak build periods.
Key Responsibilities
As a Laser Etcher, your responsibilities will include:
- Producing high-quality laser-etched markings on a wide range of precision-engineered components.
- Ensuring all markings comply with engineering, quality and traceability requirements.
- Verifying component information, serialisation data and work instructions prior to processing.
- Interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation to accurately complete marking activities.
- Conducting thorough visual inspections to ensure markings meet required standards for accuracy, clarity and consistency.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation to support full component traceability.
- Collaborating closely with Inspection and other stakeholders to ensure effective support of build priorities and operational requirements.
- Identifying and escalating non-conformance issues where appropriate.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing quality, efficiency and process robustness.
- Adhering to all Health & Safety, quality and operational procedures within a high-performance manufacturing environment.

About You
The successful candidate will be highly organised, quality-focused and able to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
You will ideally have:
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or quality-focused environment.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Confidence using computer systems and production-related software.
- Experience using Pico software systems.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using SAP would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
