Description

Redox Picker Job Description

The staff member will be responsible for picking material on the picking belt, cleaning when the plant is down and any other safe duties the Shift Manager or Supervisors requires.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort and separate recyclable materials such as paper, cardboard, plastics, metals, and glass from a conveyor belt.
  • Remove non-recyclable, contaminated, or hazardous items from the waste stream.
  • Maintain quality standards by ensuring materials are correctly segregated.
  • Monitor the conveyor line and report equipment faults or operational issues.
  • Keep the work area clean and free from hazards.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Assist with housekeeping duties and general plant operations as required.
  • Wear and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet production targets.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to identify different recyclable materials.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to follow safety instructions and procedures.
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
  • Previous experience in recycling, waste management, manufacturing, or warehouse operations is advantageous but not essential.

Working Conditions

  • Indoor recycling or waste processing facility.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, odors, and varying temperatures.
  • Standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Shift work, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required.
