Location: Solihull & Coventry, UK

Role Overview

The Launch Engineer will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of vehicle and component launches across different programs. The role involves coordinating engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and supplier teams to ensure smooth introduction of new products into production while meeting quality, cost, and timing targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support vehicle and component launch activities from prototype builds through Start of Production (SOP).
  • Coordinate and manage launch readiness activities across engineering, manufacturing, quality, logistics, and supplier teams.
  • Monitor program milestones, gateway deliverables, and launch metrics.
  • Lead issue identification, containment, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Support prototype, pilot, MVB, VP, TT, and production build events.
  • Facilitate cross-functional reviews and daily launch meetings.
  • Ensure engineering changes are implemented within production timing requirements.
  • Track manufacturing readiness and production ramp-up activities.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure component availability and production readiness.
  • Coordinate lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support plant-based problem resolution and launch recovery plans.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–12 years of experience in Automotive Launch, Manufacturing, Program, Quality, or Product Engineering.
  • Experience supporting new vehicle or component launches within OEM or Tier-1 environments.
  • Strong understanding of clients Product Creation and Delivery processes.
  • Experience managing build events and launch gateways.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and Problem Resolution processes.
  • Familiarity with Change Management and Engineering Release processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work within global and cross-functional teams.
