LaundRE is a pioneering sustainable denim finishing hub, dedicated to transforming how denim is produced, refined, and reused. The company refinishes unsold denim stocks for brands and retailers, helping reduce waste while supporting the growth of small labels through bespoke production runs. LaundRE also provides near-shore trials, enabling partners to test and refine denim concepts closer to their markets. Its R&D focuses on circularity, on-shore refinishing of used denim, and extending garment life by creating premium vintage “as new” pieces. Team members contribute directly to a more sustainable fashion ecosystem and innovative approaches to denim finishing.
Role Description
The LaundRe Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. The Operator will prepare and handle denim garments, follow detailed finishing specifications, and perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting. Daily responsibilities include recording production data, checking output for quality and consistency, and adhering to safety and sustainability procedures.

- Load and unload the washing machines, dryers and finishing equipment in accordance with approved recipes, production plans, garment specifications and machine capacity.
- Execute denim finishing processes.
- Follow approved recipes accurately in order to achieve consistent results.
- Monitor production throughout the day and ensure that shade, wash effect, hand feel, softness, shrinkage and appearance remain consistent with the approved standard and sample.
- Identify and report process deviations before they result in rejected work.
- Carry out daily, weekly and monthly maintenance on all equipment, including filters, belts, seals, hoses, drains and pumps, and maintain accurate records of the work completed.
- Diagnose faults, carry out first line repairs, and escalate to the Laundry Manager or an external engineer where the fault falls outside the scope of the role.
- Handle, decant, label and store all chemicals safely and in accordance with COSHH requirements and LaundRe’s health and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate production records, including recipes run, batch cards, weights, chemical usage and machine hours.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working area at all times, and report any hazard, defect or near miss to the Laundry Manager without delay.
- Support sample and bulk shade matching, troubleshooting and corrective actions to minimise rejection and reprocessing.

Experience
- Hands on experience in a laundry beneficial but not necessary.
- Mechanically minded, with the confidence to carry out routine maintenance and first line repairs.
- Accurate and methodical, with the discipline to follow a recipe precisely and an understanding of why the detail matters.
- A good eye for shade and appearance.
- A strong commitment to health and safety, and to the quality of the product delivered.
- Reliable, positive and enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn new skills and to work as part of a small, collaborative team.
- Plumbing or electrical skills a benefit but not essential.
Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required. Positive attitude, aptitude and a willingness to learn matter more to us.
