Laundry Assistant - The Role
We’re looking for a Laundry Assistant to join the team at Kents Hill Park, part of The Venues Collection.
You’ll play an important role in keeping the hotel running smoothly, making sure our linen, towels and other laundry are clean, fresh and ready for our guests and teams.
It’s a hands-on role where attention to detail, a good work ethic and a team-first attitude are key.
What you’ll be doing
- Sorting, washing, drying, folding and storing hotel linen, towels and other laundry.
- Making sure clean laundry is available to the relevant hotel departments when needed.
- Checking linen and laundry for stains, damage or wear and reporting any issues.
- Operating laundry equipment safely and following the correct procedures.
- Keeping the laundry room clean, tidy and organised.
- Making sure laundry is handled and stored hygienically at all times.
- Helping to maintain appropriate stock levels of linen and reporting shortages.
- Working closely with the Housekeeping team and other departments to support the smooth running of the hotel.
- Following all health & safety, hygiene and COSHH procedures.
- Supporting the wider housekeeping team when required.
What we’re looking for
You don’t necessarily need previous hotel or laundry experience — we’re looking for someone who is reliable, organised and takes pride in doing a great job.
You’ll Ideally Be
- A great team player who is happy to get stuck in.
- Organised and able to manage your workload.
- Comfortable working in a busy, hands-on environment.
- Someone who notices the small details and takes pride in high standards.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Able to follow processes and instructions.
- Friendly and approachable with a positive attitude.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
