Job title: Laundry Supervisor
Rate of pay: £16.43 per hour

Type of employment: Full time
Contractual hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Sellafield, Seascale, Cumbria, England CA20 1PG
To supervise and lead a team of Laundry Operatives, ensuring the delivery of service level requirements in accordance with contractual obligations. The post holder will be responsible for overseeing all laundry operations, ensuring compliance with operational procedures, quality standards, and service requirements. They will promote and maintain a safe working environment through adherence to all relevant Health and Safety policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, whilst ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of the laundry service.
Main Duties
- Supervise, lead and support a team of Laundry Operatives to ensure the safe and effective delivery of laundry services.
- Allocate daily work activities and monitor performance to ensure service level agreements and contractual requirements are achieved.
- Ensure all laundry processes are carried out in accordance with operational procedures, quality standards and customer requirements.
- Carry out regular workplace inspections and audits to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, company policies and safe systems of work.
- Monitor staffing levels, attendance, annual leave and sickness absence, ensuring adequate resource levels are maintained to meet operational demands - Daily Workplace Plus input to ensure accurate recordings of daily hours.
- Conduct team briefings, toolbox talks and performance discussions to communicate operational updates and promote continuous improvement.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses and quality issues, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Ensure laundry equipment is operated safely, and defects are reported promptly through the appropriate maintenance processes.
- Monitor stock levels of consumables, PPE and operational supplies, raising replenishment requests as required.
- Maintain accurate operational records, performance data and compliance documentation.
- Liaise with clients, management teams and other stakeholders to ensure a high-quality and responsive service is delivered.
- Promote a positive safety culture and ensure all activities are carried out in line with company values and behavioural expectations.

- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Full clear driver's licence with Category B
- IT Literate
- Ability to communicate at all levels
- Ability to work on own and as part of the wider team
- Working knowledge & understanding of health and safety policies
