Job Description

Role: L&D Business Partner

Location: Romford

Contract Type: Full-time, permanent

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

What You Will Do

The Learning & Development Business Partner will partner with the business to identify capability needs and deliver effective learning solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities Include

  • Partner with HR Site Lead, functional heads and HR colleagues to identify current and future learning needs across the business.
  • Translate business priorities, compliance requirements and operational performance data into practical and inclusive learning plans and interventions.
  • Maintain accurate learning records, training matrices, competency evidence and LMS data, ensuring learning information is current, reliable and inspection-ready, and work with Quality, Compliance, HSSE and subject matter experts to ensure GMP, compliance and mandatory training is accurate, role-specific, effectively delivered and appropriately governed.
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness and business impact beyond attendance and completion, using measures such as knowledge acquisition, application, behavioural change, time-to-competence and other appropriate outcomes.
  • Develop, maintain and support the effective use of site skills matrices in partnership with functional leaders, managers and subject-matter experts. Use the information to identify current and future capability gaps and translate these into prioritised development activity and the site learning plan.

About You

You will have experience in an L&D or training role within pharmaceutical manufacturing or another regulated environment. You will have a good understanding of GMP and compliance training and know how to turn learning needs into practical solutions that work for operational teams.

Basic Skills And Qualifications

  • Hold, or be working towards, a recognised qualification in learning and development, training, coaching or HR, such as CIPD, train-the-trainer or an accredited coaching qualification
  • At least five years’ L&D or training experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing or another highly regulated environment.
  • Experience designing practical, human-centred learning for frontline, operational or shift-based teams.
  • Strong understanding of compliance-led training requirements and the importance of accurate, inspection-ready training records in a pharmaceutical site environment.
