Wingate & Finchley Football Club is a semi-professional club based in North Finchley. The club is committed to providing a professional football experience for the local community and actively promotes youth development. Role Description

This part-time Lead Age Group Coach role is a hybrid position based in Barnet, with some tasks that can be completed from home. The coach will plan and deliver age-appropriate training sessions, focusing on technical, tactical, physical, and psychosocial development aligned with the club’s philosophy.

  • Relevant football coaching qualifications (e.g., FA Level 2 or UEFA C, working toward or holding FA Level 3/UEFA B preferred).
  • Proven experience coaching youth players in an academy, grassroots, or club environment, ideally within similar age groups.
  • Strong session planning and delivery skills, with the ability to design engaging, safe, and progressive training activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to motivate, support, and manage young players from diverse backgrounds.
  • Good organizational and administrative skills, including record-keeping, use of basic IT tools, and timely reporting.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and player welfare, with willingness to complete required certifications (e.g., DBS check, Safeguarding Children, First Aid).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches and staff, while also operating independently and managing time effectively.
  • Commitment to the club’s community-focused mission and to promoting equality, inclusion, and respect across all age groups.
