Lead AI Engineer
Central London | Up to £150,000 + Benefits | Hybrid, typically 2 days a week
The opportunity
Join an established FinTech whose AI technology is used by every one of the world's top 10 banks.
- The platform processes hundreds of thousands of financial documents every day with 99.99%+ extraction accuracy.
- Some of the founding ML models still sit at the heart of the platform. You'll help fine-tune and evolve them while pushing further into LLMs, agentic AI and the next generation of the product.
The role
This is technical leadership without stepping away from engineering.
- You'll remain hands-on while mentoring engineers, influencing architecture and helping set the technical direction of the AI platform.
- You'll work across:
- Fine-tuning and evolving production ML models
- LLMs, RAG and Agentic AI
- Multi-agent architectures
- Large-scale production AI systems
- Technical leadership and mentoring
- Architecture and engineering standards

What we're looking for
- You'll need strong experience building production AI/ML systems, alongside previous technical leadership experience.
- Their tech stack: Python | AWS | ML | LLMs | RAG | LangGraph | PyTorch | Docker | Kubernetes | and a tiny tiny bit of typescript (node.js)
- You'll also need experience within a financial environment, whether that's:
- FinTech | Banking | Payments | Trading | Capital Markets | Private Equity | Private Credit | Investment Management | Wealth Management | Financial Data
