Lead AI Engineer | Belfast (Remote-First) | AI Centre of Excellence

At a Glance

  • Location: Northern Ireland – Remote working
  • Stack: Azure, Python, React, Terraform

About the Company

A large, well-established global technology company with a dedicated AI Centre of Excellence — a team set apart from its core consulting and digital services divisions, focused purely on applied research and product builds using the latest Microsoft AI technology.

Role Overview

You'll join a close-knit team of around 10-11 engineers (the majority in Belfast, with others in Poland, Birmingham, and London) as a Senior AI Engineer, providing technical leadership on AI-powered products and applied research work. This isn't a billable, consulting-style role — there's no utilisation target and no client delivery pressure. The team is genuinely AI-first: they're looking for strong, well-rounded engineers rather than candidates who tick every box, whether your background is more AI-shaped or more software-shaped.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
