About The Role
As a Lead AI Engineer within the Workday Practice at Kainos, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between data science and software engineering to bring AI and machine learning solutions into production. Your responsibilities will include working closely with data scientists, software engineers, and product teams to develop, deploy, and maintain scalable AI models that enhance Kainos’s Workday product offerings. The role demands a strong technical background, a passion for innovation, and the ability to translate complex AI concepts into practical, reliable solutions. You will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless integration of AI models into existing systems, optimizing their performance, and maintaining the robustness of AI-driven features to deliver value to clients and end-users.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in software development with proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, emphasizing clean, efficient, and maintainable code for production environments.
- Proven track record in deploying AI/ML models at scale, with knowledge of MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, and monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and familiarity with cloud-native AI tools such as SageMaker, Vertex AI, or Azure ML Studio.
- Strong understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) technologies to build and manage scalable AI solutions.
- Solid background in data engineering, including building data pipelines, data wrangling, and integrating AI solutions with enterprise data systems.
- Experience working within agile development frameworks and teams, demonstrating adaptability and collaborative skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of translating technical requirements into actionable solutions and engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable AI and machine learning models, ensuring they meet performance and reliability standards.
- Collaborate with data scientists to translate prototypes into production-ready solutions, integrating models seamlessly into existing systems.
- Implement and maintain MLOps pipelines, including automation of model deployment, monitoring, and version control.
- Optimize AI models for performance, scalability, and robustness, ensuring they operate efficiently within cloud and on-premise environments.
- Build and manage data pipelines, ensuring high-quality data flows for training and inference tasks.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, applying innovative techniques to improve existing solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and documentation to promote best practices within the team.
