About The Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead AI Engineer to join our Workday Practice at Kainos. In this pivotal role, you will act as a bridge between data science and software engineering, focusing on productionizing artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with data scientists, software developers, and product teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable, reliable AI models that enhance our Workday product offerings. You will ensure seamless integration of AI solutions into existing systems, optimize performance, and maintain the stability of AI-driven features. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of enterprise AI applications, contribute to innovative projects, and work within a dynamic, forward-thinking team committed to excellence and technological advancement.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in software development, with proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, emphasizing clean, efficient, and maintainable code for production environments.
- Proven track record in deploying AI and machine learning models to production, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high performance, with familiarity in MLOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, and monitoring.
- Strong experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and familiarity with cloud-native AI tools like SageMaker, Vertex AI, or Azure ML Studio.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes to manage scalable AI solutions effectively.
- Solid understanding of data engineering, including building data pipelines, data wrangling, and integrating AI models with enterprise data systems.
- Experience working within agile development environments, demonstrating flexibility and collaboration within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical requirements into actionable solutions and effectively engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable AI and machine learning models tailored to business needs, ensuring their seamless integration into existing enterprise systems.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists to understand model requirements and translate research prototypes into production-ready solutions.
- Implement and maintain MLOps practices, including continuous integration, deployment, and monitoring of AI models to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Manage cloud-based AI solutions, leveraging services such as AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, or GCP Vertex AI, to build scalable and efficient AI workflows.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance, to support AI initiatives.
- Optimize AI models for performance, scalability, and robustness, addressing challenges related to deployment in enterprise environments.
- Participate in agile development cycles, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, and ensuring timely delivery of AI features.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations to inform decision-making.
