About Zego 🚀

At Zego, we're on a mission to do the good thing, not the insurance thing.

Insurance hasn't changed much in over a century. The way we live, work and travel has. We're building the real-time, AI-driven infrastructure that powers innovative insurance, so good drivers get cover that works the way they actually drive.

We're not just updating insurance; We're leading the AI evolution in insurance 🤖

For us, AI isn't a line on a roadmap or a buzzword on a slide. It's our operating reality, and it's how we build products that back drivers instead of the old insurance playbook.

We don't do things slowly, and we don't do bureaucracy. We back high-performance builders who want ownership, early responsibility and the chance to do the most career-defining work of their lives. You'll get the space to try things, the tools to move fast, and the room to see your ideas reach millions of drivers.

Do not take our word for it. Read what Zegons say about us on Glassdoor.

If you're ready to build the future of insurance, we're hiring.

About The Role

We are looking for a Lead AI Product Manager to own Telematics at Zego. Our proprietary telematics is how we understand the way people actually drive, and the ratings it produces shape pricing, risk management and claims across our whole book.

You’ll own the telematics stack as a product: the SDKs that capture driving data, the processing that turns it into trips, events and scores, and the Risk Management capabilities that act on them. You’ll set the 6-12 month direction across these teams and make the build-vs-buy-vs-partner calls on sensors, data sources and models.

You’ll work closely with Data Science, Pricing, Claims and Zego’s Leadership Team, champion an experiment-first culture, and mentor Product Managers across the organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Set the six-to-12-month Telematics strategy across the SDKs, data processing and Risk Management, including the build, buy or partner calls on sensors, data and models.
  • Own data quality at the source, setting the standards for trip recording, location accuracy, battery impact and stability that every score depends on.
  • Own the product side of our scoring models with Data Science, so the score is accurate, explainable and safe to change on a live book.
  • Lead Risk Management, defining how we act on driving behaviour - from price adjustments to interventions and cancellations - balancing loss ratio with fair customer outcomes.
  • Turn driving data into P&L impact with Pricing, Underwriting, Claims and Fraud, through sharper risk selection, fairer prices and better fraud detection.
  • Embed rigorous experimentation as the default operating rhythm, even when changes touch price and live policies.
  • Build reusable AI playbooks, workflows and assets that multiply the whole team’s output, from trip-data analysis to automated data and model monitoring.
  • Coach Product Managers across the organisation, raising the bar for product craft and data capability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

  • Strategic product leadership. Significant experience leading product strategy across multiple teams or domains in a high-growth environment, with decisions that moved business-level metrics.
  • Data, sensor or ML products. You’ve built products on behavioural, location or sensor data - ideally telematics, mobility or IoT - and understand how signals become models, and models become decisions.
  • Technical depth. Comfortable engaging engineers on mobile SDKs, data pipelines and ML pipelines, enough to make informed strategic bets.
  • Commercial and risk fluency. Deep understanding of pricing levers, risk modelling and loss ratios, and credible with Actuarial, Finance and Leadership.
  • Data mastery. You are as comfortable in Snowflake as you are in a strategy review, and you can interrogate model performance, not just read a dashboard.
  • Experiment-first operator. You have built experiment cultures, not just run individual tests.
  • You work AI-first. You will use AI daily here, and we mean daily. You do not need to arrive an expert, but you do need to arrive curious, experiment fast, and take ownership of getting good quickly. People who wait to be trained will find this uncomfortable.
