Roles Available

We’re recruiting for Lead Analytics Engineers across a range of roles here at the Ministry of Justice, to be part of our warm and collaborative Data & Analytics Engineering community.

This role aligns against Lead Analytics Engineer from the Government Digital and Data Framework.

This is a great opportunity to work with leading cloud technology and help change the way data is used in the public sector. Analytics engineers at MoJ play a critical role in our mission to put data at the heart of decision-making. We're looking for people with the drive to develop a deep understanding of data needs and data availability across specific areas of the Ministry of Justice. You will lead a team of Analytics Engineers, working alongside Data Engineers, to bridge the gap between data producers and data users, developing analytical pipelines and self-service tools to acquire and transform data, making it available on our Analytical Platform.

We are currently seeking candidates for the following roles. This list is not exhaustive, and other roles will become available. We try to allocate candidates according to interests and experience. If you reach interview stage, we encourage you to make clear if there is a particular role that strongly interests you, however we cannot guarantee that you will be placed into this role. Whichever role you are allocated to, there will be future opportunities to move between teams based on preference and organisational needs.

CICA

The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) is transforming how it uses data to improve services and operational performance. As an Analytics Engineer, you will lead the design of analytical data models across legacy and modern digital systems, helping to build a unified view of CICA’s operations. Working closely with data scientists and business colleagues, you will tackle complex data challenges, support digital transformation, and deliver insights that drive organisational change. In this context your work will be highly visible and have a direct impact on outcomes.

Finance Analytics and Reporting

As part of the Finance Analytics and Reporting function within MoJ, this role will lead the ongoing development, optimisation and governance of the data and reporting architecture underpinning a standardised suite of Power BI dashboards that provide trusted financial insight to budget holders and senior stakeholders. Building on the delivery of a centralised reporting framework, the post holder will drive the refactoring and enhancement of existing data pipelines to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability. Working across organisational boundaries, they will ensure financial data is robust, well-governed and supports timely, high-quality analysis and decision-making, while overseeing the Business-as-Usual reporting service, including the Working Day Refresh process, to ensure the reliable delivery of financial reporting across the organisation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
