Lead Technical Trainer – Mazda Apprenticeships
Location: Stewartby, Bedfordshire
Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits
Contract: Full Time | Monday–Friday

Calex is looking for an exceptional Lead Technical Trainer to join our award-winning team at the Mazda Academy in Bedfordshire.
Working within our state-of-the-art training facility, you'll play a key role in delivering Mazda's nationally recognised apprenticeship programme, helping apprentices develop the technical knowledge, practical skills and confidence needed to become highly skilled Mazda technicians.
Whether you're already an experienced trainer or you're an accomplished technician ready for your next challenge, we'll invest in your development through comprehensive trainer and manufacturer accreditation.

What you'll be doing
- Deliver engaging classroom and workshop-based technical training.
- Support apprentices through their Level 2 & Level 3 Light Vehicle Apprenticeship.
- Coach learners towards successful End Point Assessment (EPA).
- Deliver manufacturer-specific technical and High Voltage training.
- Develop and improve training materials and learning resources.
- Monitor learner progress and provide meaningful feedback to employers.
- Work collaboratively with the Programme Manager and wider Mazda training team.
- Promote a safe, engaging and inspiring learning environment.
- Be an ambassador for both Mazda and Calex, helping develop the next generation of automotive talent.
We're looking for someone who has
- Level 3 Automotive Technical Qualification (or equivalent).
- Strong workshop experience within the automotive industry.
- A passion for coaching, developing and inspiring others.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office.
- A full UK driving licence.

Desirable
- Teaching or training qualification (PGCE, PTLLS, Cert Ed, TAP or equivalent).
- Electric/Hybrid Vehicle qualification.
- Recent manufacturer experience.
- Health & Safety qualification.
