Location: Bracknell (BRA01) - Full-time. Hybrid role - Office and Home Based. Expected to visit the main customer (DC & DR) sites in central London & Aldershot when required.
We are looking for an experienced and well-rounded Senior Domain Architect who is looking for experience delivering in the infrastructure fields covering any number of the technologies listed below. You will be joining a team of diversely skilled likeminded engineers. You are expected to work collaboratively in delivering multiple change requirements within a shared service and project environment. Your role will involve design and delivery of refresh or new capabilities, including when required, leading project technical support specialists, liaise with third parties and other project architects, service and project managers.
Your experience and types of activities to be undertaken include but are not limited to:
- Author or critically peer/quality review technical content of proposals and design documents for complex solution developments, incorporating strategic level risks and remedies.
- Ensure all testable requirements (functional, non-functional, derived) are identified captured in a RCTM/VVCM and are suitable for passing into the test function.
- Develop IT strategies and secure, highly resilient architecture solutions for significant areas of the customers’ business, can work with customers to understand their business strategy and propose technology solutions to meet those business objectives.
- Development of technological roadmaps, proving technical thought leadership to the customer and deriving technology blueprints and solution options to help the customer meet their objectives, achieve desired outcomes or realise intended benefits.
- Collaborates closely with business stakeholders, teams, customer, suppliers, and third-party stakeholders in defining the technology infrastructure, decomposing solutions and systems into components and subsystems.
- Excellent presentation skills with experience presenting up to CxO level.
- Deliver solutions to the time, cost and quality specifications whilst meeting the Customer’s requirements. Ensure solutions meet the defined acceptance criteria or documented handover criteria.
- Provides technical leadership of system delivery by providing, communicating, and evolving the broader technology and architectural view of systems.
- Produce infrastructure/solution technical documents & diagrams (e.g. IA, HLD, LLD, build documents, formal work instructions and test plans) for system change requirements.
- Analyse defects and issues using a structured approach for problems with high to medium complexity.
- Give clear and concise instructions and guidance to others.
- Communicate and manage issues in a timely manner.
- Work with other team architects to reduce risks and improve service.
- Adhere to corporate and local methodologies and processes as appropriate.
- Keep abreast of technology developments within their own specialism.

Desirable Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in: Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- TOGAF - The Open Group Architecture Framework
- CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional
- CISM - Certified Information Security Manager
- AWS or MS Azure - Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure cloud computing
- Strong knowledge of Agile, ITIL, and security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR)
Key Performance Indicators
- Consistently produces deliverables, which require minimal rework following a peer review prior to the engineering phase.
- Authors relevant integration documents for solutions and maintains an audit trail for an effective document control process.
- Evidence of coaching and mentoring.
- Designs are successfully integrated with other parts of the solution and meet/exceed the requirement specification
- Work is delivered to agreed timescales.
- Produces maintainable solutions with a low density of defects.
- Provides technical advice and assistance to less experienced colleagues.
- Can produce tangible evidence of how they have proactively identified and resolved potential issues and risks to enable successful delivery.
- Able to provide evidence of clear and concise communication to a technical and non-technical audience, utilizing appropriate language and terminology.
- Evidence that Corporate and local methodologies have been followed.
- Evidence of input to local processes. These local processes are in regular use and have been successfully audited.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant methods and processes.
