Lead Architect

Location: London
Engagement: Permanent
Package: £120,000 to £160,000 base + performance-related bonus, strong pension and private healthcare

The Opportunity

A Lead Architect role with a leading management consultancy, for someone who started in engineering or solution architecture and now wins and shapes advisory work. This is a sales-led consulting role: you carry a revenue target, open doors and close engagements, then stay close to delivery. Net new business development is the preference, but we will consider candidates whose track record is built on driving new business through new projects, expanded programmes or new client relationships within existing accounts.

About Our Client

Our client is a well-established, highly regarded management consultancy with a strong technology and digital advisory practice across the UK. They work with organisations in multiple sectors, including finance, transport, public services, health and life sciences, and consumer and manufacturing, on complex technology-led change. They are scaling their experienced-hires team at pace and bringing in several consultants at this level through 2026. This is growth hiring, supported by a structured, fast-moving assessment process designed to get strong people through quickly.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What You'll Be Doing as a Lead Architect

  • Winning new business: building pipeline, opening opportunities and closing advisory engagements against a personal revenue target
  • Shaping solutions: drawing on your engineering and solution architecture background to design credible, sellable approaches to client problems
  • Leading client relationships from first conversation through to delivery, acting as a trusted advisor at senior levels
  • Selling across sectors, anchored in your dominant go-to-market while flexing into adjacent industries
  • Staying close to delivery, balancing the commercial remit with hands-on involvement in large, complex engagements
  • Contributing to practice growth, helping build propositions, capability and the wider consulting team

What We're Looking For From The Lead Architect

  • A track record of driving new business revenue, whether through net new client acquisition or opening new engagements, projects and programmes. A current or recent commercial target is strongly preferred.
  • A technical foundation earlier in your career: software engineering, application development or solution architecture
  • Consulting experience selling technology advisory or transformation services, not pure delivery
  • Commercial credibility: you can lead a sales conversation, shape a deal and win the work
  • Clarity on your dominant go-to-market and the services you sell, with the flexibility to span sectors
  • Experience running large, complex deliveries alongside the commercial remit

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Relevant certifications a plus, for example TOGAF, AWS, Azure or other cloud and architecture credentials

Why Join?

  • A genuine dual remit: the rare chance to both win and shape advisory work, rather than being boxed into delivery or sales alone
  • Competitive package: base to £160,000, plus performance-related bonus, strong pension and private healthcare
  • Scale and momentum: multiple hires planned, with a clear route to grow inside a recognised consulting brand
  • A fast, supported process: an efficient, well-supported interview process, including coaching before final stages
