Job Description
Would you like to be part of a fast-growing technology and engineering organisation that nurtures an open, collaborative learning environment? Are you passionate about technology, people, and developing your coding skills? If this describes you, we're trying to create the best engineering consultancy in the UK and would love for you to be part of the journey.
We draw on our reputation for outstanding delivery to allow our engineers to do the right thing for our clients. Our engineers take a holistic approach that addresses technology, process, and structure to make a lasting impact. We work collaboratively with users to create minimum viable products that are truly ready for use.
At Credera, you'll work on diverse client projects. We help organisations solve their biggest, most exciting engineering problems. We've created banks from scratch on Kubernetes and AWS, built streaming analytics solutions that protect the country, and built platforms to enable whole organisations to move to AWS and Azure. We've delivered zero downtime deployments into production with CI/CD best practices, and everything in between.
Requirements
As an Engineer at Credera, you will spend most of your time on client work, with the remainder of your time spent working on internal projects as well as training and development. Consultancy to us is about customer delivery first, carried out by technically excellent people. Our aim is not to pigeon-hole but rather upskill our engineers so they can learn and expand their expertise, as well as deliver on a variety of business-critical client projects.
You are perceptive, personable, culturally sensitive, and demonstrate a high degree of emotional intelligence. Being able to work collaboratively in a matrix organisation is essential, as is the ability to use cloud native products to build bespoke applications from scratch. As the technical lead on an engagement, you will be visible to client stakeholders as well as to your own team.
You Will Have
- Experience leading a team of 4+ engineers and acting as the technical owner of a project
- Azure Platform DevOps, Infrastructure Automation & Deployment experience
- Expert-level Azure certification (e.g. AZ-400 DevOps Engineer Expert or AZ-305 Solutions Architect Expert)
- Demonstrable experience in automating operations tasks with one or more scripting languages
- Experience creating and/or maintaining production software delivery pipelines using common CI/CD tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab)
- Deep experience working with Azure across both PaaS and IaaS hosting models - Azure is the primary platform for this role
- Genuine hands-on experience of a second major cloud platform, ideally AWS - you will work predominantly in Azure, but we need engineers who can operate credibly across more than one cloud
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
- Strong client-facing skills - regular communication with senior stakeholders, and the ability to turn a complicated architecture into something a non-specialist can follow
- Experience delivering alongside client teams and third-party suppliers, where you influence rather than directly control the work
- Have a drive for self-improvement and learning, including learning new programming languages
- Approach solving problems pragmatically
- Experience mentoring/managing junior engineers
- Experience using AI or Agentic techniques in application of the role through GitHub CoPilot, Claude Code, or equivalent, and enthusiasm for driving adoption across a team
- You will be required to hold active SC clearance for this role.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
