A Snapshot of Your Day
The Lead of Bid & Project Management for Data Centres and New Business Fields is responsible for leading the complete opportunity lifecycle from bid qualification through tender execution, project handover, and strategic delivery oversight. The role focuses on supporting growth in emerging markets including Data Centres, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Microgrids, Green Hydrogen, Electrification Solutions, Grid Edge Technologies, and other new business opportunities.
The position ensures winning, profitable, and executable solutions are developed while driving excellence across tender management, project management, commercial governance, risk management, customer engagement, and operational execution. This role acts as a critical interface between Sales, Business Development, Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, Operations, Digital Solutions, and Regional Business Units.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Develop and execute winning strategies for Data Centre and emerging technology opportunities to achieve sustainable order intake growth aligned with GT strategic objectives.
- Drive expansion into emerging energy and infrastructure markets by establishing best practices for new technology applications and business models.
- Ensure bids are executable, profitable, and resource aligned, improving tender-to-project handover effectiveness and enhancing project predictability.
- Lead governance reviews and approval processes to ensure comprehensive commercial, contractual, technical, and execution risk management.
- Implement digital and AI-driven tendering and project management solutions to improve organizational productivity and efficiency.

What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Energy Systems, Project Management, or Business Administration.
- Relevant industry experience, with time in senior leadership roles involving tender management, project management, business development, and EPC project delivery.
- Proven record of leading complex international tenders, managing opportunities valued between £50M and £1B+, and developing winning strategies for highly competitive markets.
- Strong commercial acumen and financial literacy, with experience negotiating major commercial agreements and understanding contract law and risk allocation.
- Exceptional leadership capability, with experience leading geographically dispersed teams and driving business transformation initiatives.
