LEAD BOARDING HOUSE CHEF

Uppingham School | Lodestone House | Compass Group

What You'll Be Doing

Lodestone House is proud to deliver catering services across some of the UK’s leading independent schools, creating fresh, nutritious and exciting food that brings people together.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Lead Boarding House Chef to join the team at Uppingham School, taking responsibility for the day-to-day catering within one of the School’s boarding houses.

Uppingham is a vibrant co-educational boarding school where the boarding house is at the heart of school life. With pupils and staff eating together as a house community, food plays an important role in creating a welcoming and homely environment.

As Lead Boarding House Chef, you will have the opportunity to put your own stamp on the food offer, preparing fresh, high-quality meals for pupils and staff while creating a varied and appealing menu that reflects the needs and preferences of the house.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
