Lead Business Analyst – National Security
Location: Cheltenham (with occasional travel to London & Manchester)
Salary: Up to £110,000 DOE
Clearance: Must hold Enhanced DV Clearance
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're supporting a leading consultancy delivering technology and transformation programmes across the UK National Security community.
They're looking for an experienced Business Analyst Team Lead to combine hands-on delivery with leadership of a growing Business Analysis capability. This role offers the opportunity to shape best practice, mentor Business Analysts, and work closely with senior stakeholders while remaining actively involved in customer-facing projects.

THE ROLE
As a Business Analyst Team Lead, you'll split your time between leading a team of Business Analysts and delivering high-impact work across complex technology and transformation programmes.

Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing Business Analysis team
- Driving consistency, standards and best practice across the BA function
- Working closely with delivery teams, architects and customers to define business requirements and deliver successful outcomes
- Supporting recruitment, resource planning and capability development
- Building strong relationships with customers and senior stakeholders
- Remaining hands-on across customer engagements, translating business needs into practical solutions
- Championing Agile delivery, collaboration and continuous improvement
BUSINESS ANALYST TEAM LEAD ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Strong Business Analysis experience delivering complex technology or digital transformation programmes
- Previous experience leading, mentoring or managing Business Analysts
- Background working within National Security, Defence or other highly regulated environments
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments
- Knowledge of business analysis techniques, requirements management and process improvement
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead multidisciplinary teams
- Active Enhanced DV Clearance

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
- Consultancy or professional services background
- Experience supporting digital transformation, software engineering or cyber programmes
- Familiarity with User Experience (UX) principles and Systems Engineering
- Experience building or developing Business Analysis communities or centres of excellence
- Professional BA qualifications (BCS, IIBA or similar)
