Lead Business Analyst – Essex – Hybrid– Contract 37.5 hours per week – £62.50 per hour - £71.43 ph – SC Clearance or willing to undergo
Our client is looking for a Lead Business Analyst to own and drive the BA workstream on a major enterprise transformation programme.
You'll need proven experience leading BA teams across Discovery, Fit-Gap Analysis and Design, with a hands-on and accountable approach.
At that level you are required to convert behavioural scenarios and requirements into testable end-to-end acceptance tests, ideally using the QTest Framework, Playwright, or an equivalent behavioural testing framework.

Hybrid – 3 days on site per week in Essex
The Key Responsibilities of a Lead Business Analyst
- Own and manage the BA strategy, methodology and delivery plan across the full programme lifecycle.
- Lead, direct and coordinate the Business Analysis team, allocating work against programme milestones.
- Lead business process discovery, capability analysis, scenario development and requirements-gathering activities.
- Define and govern the approach to Fit-Gap Analysis, requirements prioritisation and solution design support.
- Maintain end-to-end traceability between business capabilities, scenarios, gaps, requirements and delivered outcomes.
- Facilitate workshops and decision-making forums to drive alignment and resolve cross-functional issues.
- Act as senior escalation point for BA risks, quality concerns and delivery constraints.
- Convert behavioural scenarios and requirements into testable end-to-end acceptance criteria.

Key Skills Required
- Significant experience leading a BA workstream on a large-scale transformation programme.
- Strong Fit-Gap Analysis and requirements traceability experience across the full delivery lifecycle.
- Proven ability to establish BA governance, standards, quality controls and delivery frameworks.
- Experience managing and coordinating BA teams, SMEs and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong facilitation skills and ability to run workshops and decision-making forums effectively.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate confidently in complex delivery environments.
- Experience supporting programme planning, risk management and stage-gate governance processes.
- Experience converting business scenarios into testable acceptance criteria using QTest, Playwright or equivalent.
Nice to Have
- Experience delivering a major ERP implementation, upgrade or enterprise technology transformation.
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or a comparable enterprise platform.
- Experience working across business, data, architecture, security and organisational change workstreams simultaneously.
