Lead Business Analyst Opportunity at Sunbelt Rentals
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Lead Business Analyst to join our team at Sunbelt Rentals.
Business Analyst to lead and elevate business analysis practices across the organization. This role will play a critical part in shaping a high-performing BA community through mentorship, standard-setting, and shared learning. Working across multiple cross-functional initiatives, the Lead Business Analyst will support complex digital transformations by driving requirements gathering, process analysis, and user-centric solution design. Partnering closely with technical and delivery teams, the role ensures the successful delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and uphold quality standards for business analysis deliverables across projects and programmes.
- Mentor and support other Business Analysts, performing regular quality assurance checks and constructive feedback.
- Lead the development of a Business Analyst community of practice to encourage collaboration, shared learning, and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities for business process optimisation and efficiency through automation, technology, and operational change.
- Support the creation and analysis of business cases to inform investment decisions and prioritisation.
- Contribute to transformation roadmaps and change programmes, ensuring alignment with business strategy.
- Build strong, trusted relationships across business units, project teams, and leadership.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working groups to drive clarity and alignment.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring mutual understanding and clear communication.

To be successful in this role
You will likely be in a similar position or have relevant transferable experience.
You will be comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst still maintaining a professional and approachable manner. You will enjoy working as part of a team and have excellent communication skills.
To succeed in this role you will bring the following skill-set and behaviours:
Essential
- Proven experience in a senior or lead business analysis role within a complex enterprise environment.
- Demonstrable expertise in business process mapping, user story creation, requirements gathering, and specification writing.
- Experience mentoring or coaching business Analysts and setting analysis standards.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Proficiency with tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Jira, Confluence, or similar.

Desirable
- Professional qualifications such as BCS Business Analysis certification or IIBA CBAP/CCBA.
- Exposure to digital transformation, ERP/CRM projects (e.g. Salesforce, Coupa), or AI-enabled platforms.
