Lead Business Analyst
Medical Law Services
Location: Hybrid with in-office coworking minimum 1-2 days a week in Liverpool

Are you an experienced Business Analyst or change professional ready to take the next step into a strategic leadership role? As Lead Business Analyst, you will be the vital link between strategy and execution, translating business priorities into practical, high-impact change initiatives that support growth, improve operational performance, and deliver measurable value across Medical Law Services.
Working in partnership with senior leaders and stakeholders, you will identify opportunities for improvement, define and shape business solutions, and lead change initiatives from concept through to successful implementation. You will ensure that benefits are realised, embedded into day-to-day operations, and aligned to the organisation's long-term objectives.

Main Responsibilities
Process improvement & Delivery
- Translate strategic priorities into practical, deliverable change initiatives that create measurable business value.
- Analyse business processes, performance and operating models to identify root causes, inefficiencies and opportunities to improve quality, efficiency and customer outcomes.
- Lead current-state and future-state process design, identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate ways of working.
- Translate workshop outputs into clear and actionable requirements, user stories, process maps and functional specifications.
- Develop clear delivery plans, milestones, ownership and success measures, and lead initiatives from concept through to implementation.
- Track benefits and outcomes, ensuring improvements are embedded into business-as-usual operations and deliver sustainable results.

Data Analysis & Insight
- Analyse operational, financial and performance data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Translate complex data into clear, meaningful insights and evidence-based recommendations for senior leaders and operational teams.
- Use data and evidence to develop robust business cases, quantify opportunities and demonstrate the expected value of change.
- Define measures and KPIs to assess performance, track improvement and demonstrate benefits realisation.
- Support improvements in data quality, governance and management information, promoting a culture of fact-based decision-making.
Business Analysis & Change Leadership
- Lead strategic projects and cross-functional business change initiatives across Medical Law Services.
- Act as the lead for business analysis across MLS, promoting effective tools, standards and approaches and providing support, challenge and coaching to colleagues undertaking analysis and change activity.
- Act as a trusted partner between senior leaders, operational teams and technical specialists, creating alignment around priorities and solutions.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, business readiness, implementation and adoption activities to ensure change is successfully embedded.
- Identify and manage delivery risks, dependencies and barriers, escalating and resolving issues to maintain pace and momentum.
- Build capability and enthusiasm for continuous improvement, helping teams take ownership of change and sustain new ways of working.
Essential Skills And Experience
- Strong experience in business analysis, business change, continuous improvement or a similar transformation role, with evidence of taking increasing ownership for complex change initiatives.
- Proven experience taking ownership of complex business improvement and change initiatives, from analysis and solution design through to implementation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and influencing skills, with the confidence to constructively challenge and build credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience developing business cases, performance measures and reporting frameworks.
- Strong Excel and data analysis capability and experience using Power BI or similar reporting and analytics tools.

Desirable Skills And Experience
- Experience working within legal, professional services, regulated or operationally complex environments.
- A firm understanding of case management systems (Proclaim preferred)
- Experience using SQL or similar data interrogation tools.
