Lead Business and Process Analyst – FTC 24 months
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Business and Process Analyst to lead the design and delivery of data-sharing, systems integration and process improvement initiatives that will underpin the success of the Alliance.
This is a unique opportunity to shape how three institutions work together by creating the systems, processes and information flows that support seamless student journeys, effective collaboration and evidence-based decision-making.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Programme Manager, you will lead the Data Sharing and Systems work package across Edinburgh Napier University, Queen Margaret University and SRUC, providing strategic leadership for systems integration, data sharing and business process improvement.
Working closely with senior leaders, IT teams and specialist stakeholders, you will develop innovative and legally compliant solutions that support collaboration across the Alliance. You will oversee business analysis and service redesign activity, manage budgets, risks and resources, and lead a team of Business Analysts and Project Systems Managers to deliver technology-enabled change that supports the programme's strategic objectives.

While working closely with senior leaders, IT teams, data protection specialists and operational colleagues, you will play a key role in shaping the future operating model of the Strategic Alliance.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing collaborative systems and data-sharing solutions, overseeing process review and redesign activities, and ensuring that technical solutions are aligned with programme objectives, institutional priorities and legislative requirements. This role will provide expert leadership on systems architecture, business processes and data-sharing approaches, while managing budgets, risks, resources and dependencies across the work package.
Who we are looking for
Experienced Lead Business and Process Analyst with a proven track record of leading complex change initiatives across large and diverse organisations.
You will have:
- Significant experience leading business analysis, systems integration or data-sharing initiatives in complex environments.
- Experience managing technical or analytical teams and developing high-performing colleagues.
- Strong knowledge of business process analysis, requirements management and systems delivery methodologies.
- Experience making informed technical and operational decisions relating to systems, data and organisational processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- An understanding of information governance, data protection and systems integration principles.

Experience within higher education, further education, public sector organisations or large-scale transformation programmes would be advantageous.

Additional Information:
- Salary: £ 58,225 - £69,488 per annum
- This post is funded until August 2028 and is offered on a fixed-term basis. Continuation beyond this date will be subject to ongoing funding.
- On this occasion, the University will not consider applicants requiring sponsorship or visa support for this role. International applicants will therefore only be able to take up this role if they can demonstrate an alternative right to work in the UK.
