Lead Business Development (m/f/d) - Critical Infrastructure Protection

On behalf of our client, a renowned international technology company specializing in Defense, Security and high-tech solutions, we are seeking an experienced Lead Business Development (m/f/d) with a focus on Critical Infrastructure Protection.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsibility for Business Development in the field of Vital Asset Protection and Critical Infrastructure across Europe, with a focus on Germany, France and the UK
  • Build and develop strategic relationships with government authorities, defense organizations, airports, critical infrastructure operators, OEMs and industry partners
  • Manage the entire sales and acquisition process, from identifying new business opportunities and shaping customer requirements to developing bid strategies and negotiating contracts
  • Work closely with Management, Engineering, Program Management and Legal to successfully develop and implement proposals and programs
  • Represent the company at international Defense, Aviation and Security trade shows, conferences, forums and relevant working groups

REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in Engineering, Business, Economics or a comparable field, or equivalent professional qualification
  • At least 10 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Government Sales or Capture Management within the Defense or Security sector
  • Proven track record in selling complex technology systems, ideally in the areas of C-UAS, Command & Control, Detection, Air Defense or comparable Defense solutions
  • Experience in developing and managing Capture and Bid strategies
  • Strong understanding of the operational environment and requirements of critical infrastructure
  • Experience with Defense procurement processes, ideally involving Ministries of Defense, NATO organizations, government authorities or leading defense system integrators
  • Strong technical affinity and the ability to quickly understand complex systems and technologies and position them effectively for customers
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders across Commercial, Government and Defense
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills at senior decision-maker and government level
  • Ability to operate in an environment characterized by long procurement cycles combined with high strategic urgency
  • Fluent English, plus German or French; additional European languages are an advantage
  • The position has an international scope and involves extensive travel across Europe
  • Mobility: Willingness to relocate if required
