Why Twiggels

Twiggels is a new premium dog grooming brand with ambitious plans to grow across UK retail, trade and specialist pet channels. This is a chance to build the sales channel early, work closely with the founder and make a visible impact as new accounts, listings and repeat orders come in.

The Role

We are looking for a commercially sharp driven Business Development Manager to open and manage accounts across pet retail, garden centres, groomers, wholesalers and selected regional or national customers.

This role combines new business development and account management. You will identify opportunities, open doors, secure first orders and then develop those relationships into repeat customers that deliver sustainable growth.

What You Will Do

  • Build and manage a targeted pipeline across pet retailers, garden centres, groomers, wholesalers, buying groups and relevant premium consumer retail customers.
  • Research prospects, identify decision-makers and secure meetings through cold calling, email, LinkedIn, referrals, trade contacts and warm introductions.
  • Pitch Twiggels confidently, present the commercial opportunity, negotiate sensible terms and convert conversations into first orders.
  • Manage opened accounts through reorder activity, rate-of-sale support, customer feedback, merchandising recommendations and clear next steps.
  • Track pipeline, customer interactions, actions, forecasts and account development activity so opportunities are always visible and followed through.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • You have at least four years of relevant sales, business development, account management, field sales, key account or retail account experience.
  • You are confident prospecting, cold calling, handling objections, securing meetings, negotiating terms and closing commercial opportunities.
  • You understand pricing, margin, promotions, sell-in, repeat orders, rate of sale and customer profitability.
  • You are equally comfortable winning new business and managing accounts to drive repeat orders and long-term customer growth.
  • You are organised, accountable and disciplined in your follow-up, with experience using HubSpot or a similar CRM system.
  • Existing relationships with UK pet retailers, garden centres, dog groomers, wholesalers or premium consumer retail buyers would be a strong advantage.

What Success Looks Like

  • A clear pipeline of qualified prospects with next steps consistently followed through.
  • Regular buyer meetings secured through disciplined outreach and relevant relationships.
  • New retail, trade, dog groomer, wholesale and premium consumer accounts opened, with first orders secured.
  • Repeat orders generated through account development, customer support and strong follow-up.
  • Reliable reporting on activity, opportunities, risks, forecasted value and decisions needed.

Why Join Us?

You will help shape the sales growth of a new premium pet care brand at an early stage. This is not a role where you inherit a finished playbook. You will help build it, test what works and see the results of your activity quickly.

If you like disciplined sales execution, genuine ownership, founder access and the chance to grow with the brand as Twiggels scales, this could be a strong fit.

A Note For Candidates

We know strong candidates do not always tick every box. If you have a track record of opening doors, building customer relationships and turning conversations into commercial outcomes, we would be interested in hearing from you.
