Proven experience in procurement as a Buyer, Indirect Buyer or similar role, with the ability to lead complex sourcing and stakeholder projects.

A leading international organisation are currently recruiting for a Lead Buyer - Information Technology on a full-time, permanent basis in Stevenage.

Role: Lead Buyer - Information Technology
Type: Permanent
Location: Stevenage
Salary: Circa £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver end-to-end procurement activities across a broad IT spend portfolio, including software, SaaS, services and hardware
  • Own and run larger procurement projects, supporting Category Managers and delivering against cost, quality and risk objectives
  • Build and maintain strong internal stakeholder relationships across the UK and Europe, operating effectively in an international context
  • Engage with suppliers and internal customers to define requirements, develop sourcing strategies and manage tender processes
  • Manage commercial discussions and negotiations to secure best value and robust contractual outcomes
  • Support governance, compliance and documentation requirements aligned to regulated procurement environments
  • Attend and contribute to regular international team meetings and travel for stakeholder or supplier engagement where required

Key Skills and Experience

  • Experience in IT procurement or strong indirect procurement experience with a clear interest in moving into IT procurement
  • Knowledge of sourcing and contract management across IT categories such as enterprise software, engineering software, SaaS, services, networks or cyber
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence influencing a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver projects independently in a fast-moving environment
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid model, with 2 to 3 days per week on-site (dependent on workload classification)
  • Willingness to travel internationally for quarterly team meetings and occasional project requirements
  • Working towards MCIPS qualification, or willingness to pursue MCIPS (support available)
  • British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship, with the ability to complete BPSS checks after offer stage
