We are pleased to be partnering with a leading Lloyd's/London market risk carrier on an exciting senior-level opportunity for a Lead Capital Modelling Actuary.

This is a high-profile role with genuine influence across the business, combining technical capital modelling, commercial decision-making, and people leadership.

  • You’ll take ownership of the economic capital models for assigned entities, leading model delivery, parameterisation, methodology development, and R&D.
  • A key part of the role will be ensuring capital modelling is embedded into Business Planning, Pricing, Ceded Reinsurance, and strategic decision-making, rather than operating purely as a regulatory exercise.
  • You’ll also lead macroeconomic stress testing and scenario analysis, contribute to ORSA and risk appetite activity, and drive improvements through automation, coding, and process optimisation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

From a technical perspective, we are ideally looking for a Qualified Actuary with significant dedicated Capital Modelling experience, ideally within the Lloyd’s/UK insurance market. Strong experience with Igloo or similar modelling platforms, Economic Scenario Generators, attribution analysis, and model validation would be highly relevant.

The role also has a meaningful people leadership component leading a team of analysts/actuaries, with responsibility for developing and mentoring team members and helping shape best practice across the wider Capital Modelling function.

What makes this particularly interesting is the breadth of the role — you’ll have the opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with commercial influence and leadership, working closely with senior stakeholders across Underwriting, Risk, Finance, Pricing, and Exposure Management.

If you’re an experienced Capital Modelling Actuary and would be interested in exploring a role with this level of visibility and influence, I’d be very happy to have a confidential conversation.
