Job Title: Lead Carpenter
Location: Bristol and Bath
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Lead Carpenter to join our team. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and can confidently lead a team on-site. You will be responsible for overseeing carpentry projects from start to finish, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, on time, and within budget, while also supporting the development of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out and oversee all aspects of 1st and 2nd fix carpentry
- Lead, manage, and motivate a team of carpenters and subcontractors
- Train, mentor, and support apprentices, ensuring high standards of workmanship and safe working practices
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard
- Maintain excellent health & safety practices on-site
- Coordinate with site managers, clients, and other trades
- Monitor materials, tools, and workflow to ensure smooth project delivery

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Lead Carpenter or Senior Carpenter
- Strong competency in both 1st and 2nd fix carpentry installing joinery & final fixing
- Experience in training or mentoring apprentices or junior carpenters
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to problem-solve and work under pressure
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)

Pay: £35,000.00-£49,000.00 per year
