Job Opportunity: Lead Change Manager
Smartedge’s Client is looking for an individual to help with their Lead Change Manager on a Contract role in Sheffield, UK (Hybrid)
Job Summary:
The Lead Change Manager provides leadership across multiple change initiatives or a significant transformation programme. The role is accountable for shaping delivery strategy, overseeing project and change resources, managing senior stakeholder relationships, and ensuring successful execution of business outcomes aligned to strategic objectives.
Principal Accountabilities
- Lead complex change programmes, workstreams, or portfolios with significant business impact.
- Define and implement change delivery approaches, governance structures, and operating models.
- Provide direction and oversight to Project Managers, Change Managers, Business Analysts, and wider delivery teams.
- Establish programme controls and ensure adherence to regulatory, risk, and governance requirements.
- Build strong relationships with senior executives and sponsors, providing strategic advice and challenge.
- Drive issue resolution across complex dependencies and competing priorities.
- Ensure effective change adoption, business readiness, and benefit realisation activities.
- Manage programme financials, resource allocation, and investment performance.
- Support strategic planning, prioritisation, and portfolio management activities.
- Champion change management best practice and continuous improvement.

Knowledge & Experience
- Significant experience leading large-scale transformation programmes within financial services.
- Strong understanding of programme management, change management, and business transformation methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead matrix teams.
- Experience managing complex budgets, regulatory change, and organisational transformation.
- Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking capability.
- Programme Management qualifications (MSP, PgMP, Agile Programme Management) desirable.
- Inspires confidence and leads through ambiguity.
- Influences at executive and board level.
- Creates clarity and direction across large-scale initiatives.
- Develops and coaches delivery professionals.
- Delivers sustainable business outcomes.
