Role Description

The Lead Chef is a full-time, on-site role based at Twickenham Stadium in London. This position is responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and service for events, match days, and hospitality functions. Day-to-day tasks include:

The Lead Chef collaborates with event and catering managers to tailor menus, manage timelines, and deliver an excellent guest experience. The role also involves:

  • Training and mentoring culinary staff
  • Managing kitchen workflows
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of recipes and processes

Qualifications

  • Strong culinary skills with experience in menu development, high-volume cooking, and modern presentation techniques.
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise kitchen teams, including scheduling, task delegation, and performance feedback.
  • Thorough knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and compliance with local health regulations.
  • Experience in event, banqueting, or stadium catering, ideally within hospitality or entertainment environments.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with catering, events, and front-of-house teams.
  • Good organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple events and tight service windows.
  • Relevant culinary qualifications or professional chef training; additional certifications in food safety are an advantage.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and event days as required by the stadium’s schedule.
