Overview

Delaware North UK is hiring a casual Lead Chef to join our collaborative team at the London Stadium, in Stratford, East London. As a Lead Chef, you will be leading a kitchen section, supporting team members in food production, presentation, and event execution. Join us to connect with our team and create memorable dining experiences together.

Responsibilities

  • Lead kitchen operations from planning through delivery, attend team briefings, and manage food production, menus, staffing, and logistics
  • Ensure food consistently meets Delaware North’s standards and specifications, maintaining high quality, presentation, and consistency
  • Lead culinary teams, allocating tasks, monitoring performance, and maintaining clear communication
  • Drive high standards of food presentation and allergen compliance, ensuring quality guest experience, leading teams to deliver seamless event service
  • Ensure the operation complies with current health and safety, food hygiene, fire regulations, licensing laws, and trading standards, maintaining Delaware North’s policies and standards of excellence

Qualifications

  • No degree required
  • Minimum of Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Proven experience as a Senior Chef, Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, or Junior Sous Chef, working with high-quality ingredients and premium food offerings within a fine dining, luxury hospitality, or premium restaurant environment
  • Strong knowledge of classical and contemporary culinary techniques
  • Skills in leadership, communication, teamwork, reliability, punctuality, detail-orientation, attention to detail, plating presentation, organisation, and performing under pressure

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for duration of shift
  • Comfortable handling various meat products
  • Availability to attend shifts for prep days, as well as matchdays and non-matchday event days when required, due to events-based nature of roles
  • Ability to travel and work at London Stadium

Hourly Minimum Rate

GBP £20.40/Hourly

Starting off hosting the 2012 Summer Olympics, London Stadium has grown to hold a vibrant portfolio of elite sporting events and concerts.
