Job Description:

Shire Healthcare are working with a leading provider of children's care, specialist education, and schools recruiting for a Lead Clinician (Psychologist, Psychotherapist, OT, SaLT) to be based in Hampshire.

The role:

The successful candidate will be appointed as the Lead Clinician to work in a specialist school based near Southampton. The role will be split between clinically leading the team and holding a therapy caseload. You will work with children and young people in an educational setting who present a complexity of needs including autism and other types of neurodivergence, developmental trauma, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

  • Contract Type - Permanent (term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on your personal circumstances)
  • Hours – Full time
  • Salary - £50,000 - £60,000 FTE

Experience required:

Due to the seniority of the role, candidates applying will have extensive experience working with children who present with learning disabilities, autism, and/or developmental trauma. Valid and up-to-date professional Registration & membership of professional body required, e.g., HCPC registered Psychologists, UKCP accredited Psychotherapists.

Candidates applying will have a recognized degree in either Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Psychology, or Psychotherapy and up-to-date professional Registration & membership of professional body, e.g., HCPC/UKCP/BACP, valid along with previous experience working with children and young people with complex needs such as neuro and/or trauma.
