Senior Cloud & Platform Engineering Lead

The Senior Cloud & Platform Engineering Lead will own and drive the design, delivery, and operational excellence of enterprise cloud platforms and migration initiatives. This role plays a critical part in advancing LSEG Post Trade’s cloud strategy, with a strong focus on AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), automation, and cloud-native engineering.

You will lead high-performing engineering teams, shape platform strategy, and ensure secure, scalable, and resilient cloud services. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both technical depth and strategic influence across engineering, architecture, and business partners.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design, build, and optimisation of AWS-based cloud platforms, including EKS, Kubernetes, networking, identity, and observability capabilities supporting enterprise-scale workloads
  • Drive cloud migration programmes end-to-end, including application assessment, readiness analysis, refactoring strategies, and transition planning
  • Shape and deliver platform roadmaps, enabling scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient cloud operations
  • Champion automation-first engineering, using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible) and GitLab-based CI/CD pipelines to improve consistency and speed
  • Ensure platform reliability, security, and compliance, embedding engineering standards, architectural patterns, and governance controls across all workloads
  • Enable hybrid-cloud integration, supporting selective adoption of Azure services where required
  • Collaborate across architecture, security, and operations teams to enforce platform guardrails and guidelines
  • Lead and develop engineering teams, encouraging a culture of ownership, learning, and continuous improvement
  • Coordinate sprint planning, prioritisation, and delivery execution across multiple engineering streams
  • Represent Cloud & Platform Engineering in governance, architecture, and programme forums
  • Act as the focal point for complex cloud and Kubernetes challenges, making informed technical and operational decisions

What You Bring

  • Deep expertise in AWS services, including EKS, IAM, networking, compute, observability, and security
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container platforms, including cluster operations and workload optimisation
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling
  • Solid understanding of hybrid cloud architectures, networking, identity, and security controls
  • Experience applying SRE principles, observability frameworks, and managing distributed systems at scale
  • Demonstrated success leading cloud transformation and migration programmes

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
